Techno fans, get ready for two days of the world’s best house, electronic, and techno music. The Music On Festival is returning in May 2020 for its third consecutive year, filling Amsterdam with the sounds of some of the greatest techno and house musicians in the business for a full weekend.
The event has fully sold out the last two years of its run, and we’re likely heading towards another fully booked event. Music On is one of the most respected and well-known festivals for electronic music and its subgenres, and hosts an impressive lineup full of carefully selected stars.
The Man Behind Music On
The festival was founded by the Italian producer and DJ Marco Carola, in coordination with his his label, which is also named Music On. Carola is known as a global ambassador for the techno genre, and has been a prominent part of the electronic music scene since the early 90’s. He is known for playing a part in the worldwide popularization of electronic music, and had a hand in the founding of several music labels, including Zenit, Design, and Question. Carola has been all over the world in his pursuit of the advancement of techno and house music, and his experience shows.
Where and When
The Music On Festival will occur May 9th and 10th at Havenpark in Amsterdam, only a short trip from the center of the city. Haverpark is conveniently located near the harbors, only 5 minutes from the Sloterdijk train station and 20 minutes away from Amsterdam’s city center. It’s easy to get to and close to other parts of the city, making it perfect for attendees who are staying somewhere else in Amsterdam or looking to explore the area. Lush and green, with tons of sprawling space, Havenpark is ideal for a festival like Music On.
The Attending Acts
Music On’s lineup boasts both established musicians in the techno scene and some of the best up-and-comers, so the music fans that come from all over to attend can see a show by a popular DJ they already love and then go right into discovering a new favorite, all in the same day.
The Music On Festival has an extensive and star-studded 2020 lineup, including names such as Apollonia, Lauren Lane, Solardo, Leon, tINI, wAFF, and Marco Carola himself, who is slated to play both days.
